Sherrie Perkins - March Heartbeat Team Member

R. J. Richey Elementary Library Instructional Partner Sherrie Perkins broke out in tears when Superintendent Keith McBurnett announced her as the March Heartbeat Team Member in front of the campus staff and students.  Some of the R. J. Richey faculty members sharing in the excitement are pictured here with Sherrie.  Read more about Sherrie and the many way she displays "heart" at R. J. Richey Elementary here.   
 
Steve Grant announced as BMS Principal

The Board of Trustees unanimously approved Steve Grant as the Principal of Burnet Middle School at the March 23rd Board meeting. Mr. Grant has been serving as Interim Principal the past several months. Superintendent Keith McBurnett stated "After talking to members of the BMS leadership team, reviewing the BMS climate survey results and observing Mr. Grant in action, it is clear to me that he is the best choice for the job. We wanted to find the best leader for BMS, and we have done that." Please join us in congratulating Mr. Steve Grant as the leader of Burnet Middle School.
March School Board Meeting News

Congratulations to Tatum Salinas, Danielle Oakley, and Liz Williams whose art work was chosen to be on display at the State Capitol and the Bob Bullock Museum.  The students were honored at an award ceremony and reception at the Bullock Museum of State History on March 22nd.  The three artists were recognized for their achievements at the March Board meeting.  They are pictured with their proud families and teachers.  Read more about the meeting here.  

 
This coming April 1-30, Burnet CISD will be participating in the fun, nonprofit health challenge called Million Mile Month. Million Mile Month is a challenge to complete 1 million miles of physical activity, together as one community, across one month.  Join the Burnet CISD team as we log activities, win healthy prizes, and top the leaderboards.   Read all about this challenge and how to participate here.
